![]() | Champlain - Burlington/Whitehall/Allburg; Forming about half of the border between Vermont and New York, this lake has a reputation for salmon and lake trout. Numerous rivers and streams provide excellent angling opportunities for fly fishing, and there are recreational sites available on Grand Isle in the north end of the lake, which is acessable from Rt 2. North Hero State Park  and Kamp Kill Kare State Park   are situated along the lake. |

| The Connecticut River starting in northern New Hampshire and flowing through Massachusetts and Connecticut before meeting the coast at Long Island Sound, the Connecticut River offers a vast and varied fishery. From the Connecticut Lakes State Forest the river flows south as the border of New Hampshire and Vermont, the river is a first rate trout fishery surrounded by unspoiled nature. The Northern portion of the river can be fished from a canoe, and can be accessed from Rt 3. South of Stratford, the river is a good warm water fishery, with good bass and walleye fishing. The river is dammed in several areas, be alert for rapidly rising and falling water! |

| Lac Memphremagog is divided between Vermont and Canada, with the largest U.S. town being Newport on the southern end of the lake. Also in the area, the BlackRiver runs throuugh the towns of Irasburg and Coventry as it winds through the scenic country side. The town of Orleans is situated on a fork in the Barton River, which has Crystal Lake and the town of Barton, and the town of Westmore on Lake Willoughby as the headwaters to the south. Bald Mountain at 3315 feet and Mt Pisgah at 2751 feet provide some of the scenin background for Lake Willoughby. |
