![]() | The Allagash Wilderness Waterway in northern Maine is bordered by Baxter State Park on the southeast, and extends northward along the Allagash River in Piscataquis and Aroostook counties. The waterway can be accessed form private roads in the area, or from Baxter State Park. Several lakes are included in the waterway, including the Allagash, Chaimberlain,and Eagle Lake on the southern side. Long Lake and Round Pond are to the north.Camping, fishing, and hiking adventures abound. |
![]() | Aroostook - Located in northern Maine, off Rt 1 near Presque Isle, Aroostook Recreational area offers camping, boating, swimming, and picnicking at Echo Lake. Fish North Brook or visit Quaggy Joe Mountain, elevation 1213 feet. Boat rentals and RV hookups are available. |
![]() | Baxter State Park - Mt Katahdin (also known as Baxter Peak) rises 5268 feet to provide an astounding view of the surrounding countryside, and the northern end of the Appalachian Trail. Fish along Trout Brook into Grand Lake or Webster Brook from the Allagash Waterway. The Northern side of the park can be accesed from Rt 159 off of Interstate 95, or from the southern side from Rt 157 out of Millenocket. |
![]() | Bradbury Mountain - Camping is available at this site off Rt 9 near Pownal Center, and fishing at the nearby Androscoggin River. RV's are allowed. Nearby sites include the Desert of Maine, the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, and the Wadsworth-Longfellow house in Portland. |
![]() | Camden Hills State Park - Overlooking Penobscot Bay, Megunticook Mountain provides an excellent scenic vantage point for the harbor and passing ships. Camden is a picturesque town with many craft and antique shops, excellent food, and wonderful sights. Searsport , to the north, hosts the Penobscot Marine Museum, and Rockkland to the south is the site of the Farnsworth Library. |
![]() | Cobscook Bay - Edmunds Maine - This recreational facility offers camping, boating, fishing, and golf in the area. Fish the bay, Rocky lake or Cathance lake, or visit the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge. The Quaddy Head Lighthoouse is located nearby off Rt 189. |

![]() | Damariscotta Lake - Jefferson & Nobleboro, Total area 4625 acres. The state park at the north end of the lake near Jefferson, and ice out is about mid-April. The Park offers fishing, swimming, and picnicking areas. |

![]() | Grafton Notch - Fish and swim at Grafton Notch State Park. The The Appalachian Trail passes through this park, with Old Speck mountain at 4180 feet. Baldpate Mountain at 3812 feet nearby along the trail. Screw Auger Falls is in the Bear River, which runs along Rt 26 in western Maine. |

![]() | Rangeley Lake - Located just south of Rangeley, a boat launch is available for fishing and boating activities. Picnic and camp sites are available, with hookups for RV's. The Appalachian Trail crosses Rt 4 south of this recreational area, and Mooselookmeguntic Lake is nearby. |
![]() | Scarborough Beach is located on a point near Prouts Neck. Easily reached from US Rt 95. You can fish the ocean, swim and picnic at this very scenic area of the Maine Coast. |

A popular vacation area for fishing, camping and picnicking activities, there are camp sites available with RV hookups and boat launch facilities. Camping is in the Naples area, and the park offers sand beaches, tables, stoves, a lifeguard and bath facilities in the Casco area. |
